I've been feeling depressed since surgery. The large ovarian cyst they thought I had wasn't coming from the ovary after all. Thankfully, I didn't have cancer either. The depressing thing is that I op to have a complete hyster. thinking i had another ovarian cyst. I'm also down because what if I get another abdominal cyst like that again. I don't want to be cut on ever 2 years. The surgeon said I had the worst scar tissue he ever seen. He said all the scar tissue was from the large cyst. My bodies way of protecting itself. I forgot to ask him why don't scar tissue grow in the abdomin of pregnant women as a means of their body protecting itself from the child? From what he told me, the cyst was more of a GI thing. Now I have to go for gasto testing. It seems to me that I could have by past the hyster. This is depressing. _________________ 4 mc from 1984-1985

Oh my! If the doc saw that it was something else, why did they continue with the hyst?
My heart goes out to you. My current doc told me that she wished we could have met years ago before I had my hyst. She is into saving our parts. We cannot turn back the clock or live with coulda, shoulda, woulda.
May you find peace in this situation. _________________ dh: Mark

Hi Andmaree.I wish I were there as a neighbor to come visit, bring you some nice tea and krumpets...and just chit chat. ((HUG))
Post-op is such a drag.....all you can really do is rest, which is BORING! But do that well, dear lady. It'll be worth it.
Another ((HUG)) for you!! _________________ CNBC Co-founder with Kimberly

My heart goes out to you...sadly, docs often carry through on things...I wish there was someway that we could have contingencies before going under.
My doc said he wouldn't remove my ovaries unless there was cancer...and then he just took them.
Ovaries do so much for us...they should only be removed if there is an issue with them and under full consent of patient.
I am so sorry that this happened and I, too, pray for peace for you. |

Thanks. I've been coming along. Tuesday will be 12 weeks post op for me. I've been alittle down lately but what did brighten my spirit was an article I read last night. It in the bbc news about a woman that got pregnant and the whole time the pregnancy was in her ovary. No uterus. This made history. I like reading stuff like this. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl. God can do miracles. This baby didn't even grow in her womb at all. Here's the story.
